Agora Modiano – or Central Food Market of Thessaloniki – is a living landmark of the city. Starting with its founder, Eli Modiano, in 1922, it has managed to write its own history. A story whose new chapter opened in December 2022.

Fais Group undertook the restoration and renovation of the listed building and its interior renovation using modern building technology. At the same time, it based the Market’s new operation on a new philosophy that provides modern facilities to partner merchants and sophisticated options – such as entertainment with pop-up events and culinary and music festivals – for residents and visitors alike.

The mission of the new Agora Modiano is to offer fine Greek and multicultural experiences, from fresh produce to dining, events, and entertainment. Set in a unique environment of high architectural aesthetic and historical significance, it is Greece’s first European standards market. With a fresh face, a modern concept, and a new philosophy, with references to the glamor of yesterday, the city of tomorrow, and the dynamism of today.
